Far Out's #1 Promoters have arrived!
We’re going out. Far Out. On a mission to promote the UK’s hot new lesbian drama…Online. Yes, Far Out will delve into the lives, loves and dramas of a group of gay women centred around London, and it’s all thanks to creator Faye Hughes that this project has taken off. Speaking of the new show, she carries with her strong views about the way the media portray lesbians in today’s society: “The media is so out of touch...Lesbians are either unattractive dykes, ball-breaking shrews or lentil-eating hippies with hairy armpits – and we’re all gagging to ‘convert’ straight women”. With Far Out, she hopes to show what being gay is all about, and how these women really live their lives, “we have real and valid relationships…we can be butch dykes or girly girls or anything in between…we have kids, responsible jobs, families, ambitions and aspirations. We can honestly say that we are telling our story from experience, this isn’t a group of men sat in a board room making a series for money”.
Far Out has plenty to offer the lesbians out there; comedic value, emotional roller coasters, gripping storylines, and the all round truth about how their lives are really no different to the troubles and turmoil’s of any straight group of friends.
Upon learning about the show and viewing the trailer, myself and Laura Blanshard realised just how good an opportunity it was to finally have some raw storylines out there about the gay life, rather than the over-hyped, misconstrued, and often exaggerated stereotypes of lesbians we’ve all seen in the past. This new project looked inspiring, and upon viewing the trailer seemed like something us girls who like girls could finally relate to. With that said, we are on a mission; a mission to promote the show as much as we can, and to gain it worldwide publicity and acknowledgment. Through our blog we will be bringing you up to date on how our promotional skills are faring us, regular news updates on the shows events, storylines and popularity, and finally offering you our own personal insights into the gay scene.
So, take an active interest in us! Follow us, talk to us, read our updates, watch our progress, and support Far Out with us!
